About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for repairing and reconditioning a NEXRAD Differential Planetary Gearbox (ASN: R400-2A1A3A3A1, NSN: 3010-01-436-0701). The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service requires vendors to restore the gearbox to "Like New" condition according to specification drawing 14636-5003 Rev T, which involves comprehensive repair, replacement of faulty components, and meeting all electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic specifications.
The SOW includes specific requirements such as a 1-year warranty against material workmanship, mandatory quality assurance checks, and detailed deliverables including test data and a Certificate of Conformance for each repaired unit. Vendors must package and ship the gearbox to withstand various transportation methods, and the repair process is linked to a potential 5-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. The shipping address is the National Reconditioning Center in Grandview, MO, and the document was reviewed on April 4, 2025, by Scott Potterton and Gregory Flores from the NEXRAD Repair Branch and TI&MR Branch, respectively.
