STATEMENT OF WORK FOR NHHC DETACHMENT BOSTON

USS CONSTITUTION BEAM STOCK LAMINATED SOUTHERN YELLOW PINE

Introduction/Background

NHHC DET BOSTON is the maintenance and repair facility supporting USS CONSTITUTION.

As part of that function, NHHCDB is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ship’s interior decking and beams.

Scope of Work

Contractor will fabricate new beam stock for USS CONSTITUTION using Laminated Southern

Yellow Pine;

1. Laminated Southern Yellow Pine Beam Stock (4PCS) - 18" SIDED x 18" MOLDED x 25'-0"

2. Edge gluing full length using glued finger joints to conform to ANSI A190

3. All Southern Yellow Pine, predominantly heartwood, waterproof adhesive and architectural grade.

4. Moisture content 12% or less.

5. Surfaced two sides and molded to dimensions required above. 2" Laminate

6. Request final product be wrapped for shipping.

7. Include all shipping costs to Charlestown Navy Yard Boston MA

Period of Performance

Contractor shall provide services for the fabrication of the beams after receipt of order and provide estimated fabrication timelines. Fabrication and shipping to Charlestown should complete NLT September 30, 2024.

Vendors facility and shipping of complete, fabricated (4) pieces of Beam Stock to Charlestown

Navy Yard, Boston, MA

Work Requirements

Vendor will fabricate and ship the completed (4) pieces of Beam Stock to Charlestown Navy

Yard. Vendor will wrap the finished product for shipping.

Acceptance Criteria

Successful receipt and inspection of fabricated materials from Vendor witnessed by NHHCDB personnel.
