About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the overhaul and refurbishment of a Flender crane transmission gear case (SVN 360, serial number D09712276-1-2) to restore it to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
The contractor shall perform comprehensive tear down, inspection, and rebuild work at their repair facility, including complete disassembly and cleaning to bare metal, thorough visual and damage inspections per ASME B30, ANSI/AGMA 2001-D04, and ANSI/AGMA 915-3-A99 standards, and submission of a Condition Found Report (CDRL A001) documenting any discovered damage. Machining work includes reworking the 100 pinion and 200 shaft to address seal area wear to precise OEM tolerances. The contractor shall replace 100% of consumables (seals, hardware, bearings) with new OEM-approved or equivalent parts, then meticulously reassemble the gear case with adjustments to OEM specifications. Following reassembly, the contractor must complete a no-load function test run and submit test results (CDRL A002), then apply rust-inhibiting primer and topcoat paint in the original OEM color. Final deliverables include the Condition Found Report (CDRL A001), Test/Inspection Results (CDRL A002), and Certification Data Report (CDRL A003). The government handles transportation to and from the contractor's facility and removal/installation of the gearbox, while the contractor is responsible for palletizing and crating upon completion. GFP coordination requires the contractor to maintain active PIEE registration and GFP Module access, electronically acknowledge receipt within three business days, and designate a Point of Contact for logistics coordination.

2. REFERENCES
2.1. ASME B30
2.2. ANSI/AGMA 2001-D04
2.3. ANSI/AGMA 915-3-A99
3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, facilities, tools, and equipment required to overhaul the crane gear case. The core requirements include cleaning, comprehensive damage inspection, required structural and mechanical repairs, machining, 100% replacement of all consumables (seals, hardware, bearings), reassembly, the performance of a no-load function test run, and exterior painting to match the original color.
3.2. The Contractor shall perform all work in a controlled facility capable of handling heavy weight components and executing precision machining.
3.3. Upon receiving the Government Furnished Property (gear case), the Contractor shall take photos of the as received condition and submit inspections results. (CDRL A002)
3.4. Tear down, inspect, and rebuild as required meeting the following at a minimum.
3.4.1. The Contractor shall completely disassemble the gear case. All components shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove all grease, oil, dirt, rust, and scale, stripping them down to bare metal to ensure accurate and comprehensive inspection for any damage.
3.5. The Contractor shall perform thorough inspections following the cleaning to include:
3.5.1. Visual Inspection: Check for obvious signs of damage.
3.5.2. The Contractor shall also visually inspect for any wear, corrosion, cracking, pitting, spalling, scouring, galling, fretting, overheating, broken components, misalignment, and foreign objects.
3.5.3. The Contractor shall submit a Condition Found Report (CFR) (CDRL A001) for any damage discovered during the inspections prior to machining or reassembly.
3.6. Machining and Repairs:
3.6.1. Machining: The Contractor shall perform machining to precise OEM tolerances for the following:
3.6.1.1. Machine/rework the 100 pinion to address any wear on the seal area.
3.6.1.2. Machine/rework the 200 shaft to address any wear on the seal area.
3.6.2. Component Repair: The Contractor shall repair or replace damaged gears, shafts, or structural housing components as identified in the CFR and authorized by the government.
3.7. Replacement of Consumables: If no damage is visible, the Contractor shall replace the following with 100% new, OEM approved or equivalent parts:
3.7.1.1.1. Replace all consumables
3.7.1.1.2. Replace all seals
3.7.1.1.3. Replace all worn fastening hardware
3.7.1.1.4. Replace all bearings
3.8. Reassembly: After all steps listed above are completed:
3.8.1.1. The Contractor shall meticulously reassemble the gear case using the new consumables and repaired/machined parts.
3.8.1.2. The Contractor shall Adjust geared parts and rolling-contact bearings to OEM specifications
3.9. Performance Testing: Complete a No-load function test run with control of the geared shares, running noises, and tightness. The Contractor shall submit results of this no-loan function test. (CDRL A002)
3.10. Painting and Finishing: Following successful testing, the Contractor shall apply a rust inhibiting primer and topcoat paint finish. The Contractor shall paint according to the original OEM color of the gear case.
3.11. The Contractor shall submit final certifications of quality assurance upon completion of all work. (CDRL 003)
3.12. Deliverables: The Contractor shall submit the following deliverables:
