About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the Bureau of Reclamation procurement of one Treble+ Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) Interrogator Unit or equal equipment to support monitoring projects at Reclamation facilities, including structural health monitoring, seismic imaging, and pipeline leak detection applications. The scope includes hardware acquisition, extended warranty coverage for at least three years, annual firmware upgrades, and three years of annual technical support and remote software maintenance packages. On-site training is not included in the support requirements.

The DAS system must meet specific mechanical, operational, and data collection requirements. Mechanical specifications include a Class 1M laser product in a 19-inch rack-mountable 4U chassis, operating temperatures of 0°C to 40°C, and SC/APC fiber-optic connectors with a ruggedized site case for field deployment. System operation must include continuous recording capability with GPS time stamping (±2 microseconds maximum error), triggered or continuous acquisition modes, local and remote dashboards, integrated APIs, and visualization software with signal processing tools. Data collection capabilities must support native velocity measurements (not strain-rate) in HDF5 format, with maximum fiber sensing length of at least 30 kilometers, channel spacing of 1 meter or less, sampling rates of at least 200,000 samples per second, and post-processing gauge-length flexibility between 1 meter minimum and 100 meters or full fiber length maximum. The unit requires 100–240 VAC, 40–60 Hz power input with typical usage of 150 watts. Delivery must occur within 10 weeks of award to the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver, Colorado. Vendor submissions must include company information, pricing on the provided Price Schedule B, technical specifications (required if offering alternative equipment), warranty documentation totaling at least three years, delivery lead time, and past performance information from two relevant projects completed within the last three years, with complete project details and reference contacts. Incomplete submissions lacking required information will be deemed non-responsive and excluded from consideration.

Statement of Work Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) Interrogator Unit

1.0 Introduction

The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) requires the procurement of one Treble+ Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) Interrogator Unit (IU) OR EQUAL to support ongoing and future monitoring projects, including additional DAS data acquisition using fiber-optic cable installed at Granby Dike No. 3. The DAS IU will be deployed in multiple configurations across various Reclamation facilities to provide state-of-the-art sensing and infrastructure monitoring in support of Reclamation’s mission and public safety.

Applications include:

• Active and passive seismic imaging and monitoring

• Earthquake seismology

• Structural health monitoring of embankments, pipelines, canals, and linear structures

• Pipeline leak detection and localization

The scope of work includes the acquisition of the DAS IU hardware, extended warranty coverage, annual firmware upgrades, and extended annual technical support packages.

2.0 Technical Requirements: Treble+ Model: Distributed Acoustic OR EQUAL

• Class 1M Laser Product

• 19-inch rack-mountable chassis (4U)

• Operating temperature: 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) or better

• Storage temperature: 0°C to 60°C (32°F to 140°F) or better

• Relative humidity: Up to 90%, non-condensing

• SC/APC fiber-optic connector types

• Ruggedized site case for field deployment included

2.2 System Operation and Software Characteristics:

Continuous recording for long-term monitoring applications

• Triggered or continuous acquisition (NTP or GPS time stamping)

• Precision timing card

- GPS Time Stamping (<2μs maximum time interval error when locked)

- GPS Antenna included (SMA port)

- Trigger Input (BNC port), can be used as PPS Input

- Trigger Output (BNC port)

• System I/O:

- HDMI and display ports

- Ethernet: 1x 1Gb/s or faster
