About this file
This is a Statement of Work for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS), Code 105.5, Radiation Health Division, requiring the replacement of a Standard Electrode Germanium Coaxial Detector. The current detector is unable to cool to required temperatures following a power loss and is too old for vendor repairs. The vendor must manufacture and deliver a new Model GC3518 STD P-TYPE COAXIAL DETECTOR and Model CP-5+ CP-5 Plus Cryo-Pulse Controller, ship both items to PNSY, and perform ISCOS characterization of the new detector. The ISOCS Characterization Verification Source (Eu-155, Na-22) shall be shipped separately from the detector to the same address with a tracking number and expected ship date provided to PNSY at least two days prior to arrival.
The Period of Performance extends from contract award through approximately October CY26, with a minimum six-month lead time required for detector manufacture. The work supports PNS's capability to perform onsite qualitative and quantitative radioisotope analysis of samples in compliance with NAVSEA Manual 389-0288, Radiological Controls Manual, and reporting requirements to NAVSEA, the states of Maine and New Hampshire, and the regional Environmental Protection Agency office. The Statement of Work is controlled by Code 105.5 and is marked as CUI with OPSEC categories and FEDCON dissemination controls. Point of contact is Matthew Bowers at 207-738-5000.
