Statement of Work
Project: Procure Chopper Pumps for USDA Lab Facility in Ames, IA
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: This project is to procure 2 Vaughn (or equivalent) chopper pumps for replacement Ser. # 87924
2.0 Background: Pumps will be used for pumping liquid and solid raw waste material from tanks to waste treatment plant.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements:
• Stainless steel Horizontal End Suction Chopper Pump as direct replacement for Vaughn Pump Serial Number 87924
• Pump must be stainless steel bare pump.
• Casing and backplate shall be cast stainless steel.
• Impeller, cutter bar, cuter nut and upper cutter shall be of cast CMCu stainless steel.
• Shaft shall be 316 stainless steel.
• Bearings shall be oil bath lubricated with minimum 100,000 hr L-10 bearing life.
• Bearing housing shall be cast ductile iron with site glass and bronze non-contacting labyrinth bearing isolator at each end.
• Pumps must have a Flush less Mechanical Seal, cartridge with stainless steel housing, integral stainless steel shaft sleeve and silicon carbide faces.
• Elastomers shall be industrial grade Viton.
• Pumps must have Flange connections – 3” discharge and 6” inlet, ANSI CL
150.
• Pump finish shall be Solvent wash and coated with Tnemec Perma shield PL series 431 epoxy (except motor and SS parts).
• Qty: 2 units.
• Quote shall include all charges for delivery onsite.
4.0 Deliverables/Schedule: Pumps shall be delivered onsite with 90 days of date of award.
5.0 Place of Delivery: USDA, 1920 Dayton Avenue, Bldg. 24, Ames, IA 50010
6.0 Evaluation Factors: Lowest price technically acceptable.
