STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

FOR

K-9 DIESEL DOG

Military Working Dog Section

Langley Air force Base

The 633 Security Forces Squadron (633 SFS) Military Working Dog (MWD) section has a requirement for the purchase of two (2) advanced canine medical trainers. IAW Air Force and Army regulations, the model options are the Trauma FX K9 Diesel and Trauma FX K9 Hero. The technical requirements needed are only available with the K9 Diesel model. In addition to the base medical training dogs, additional equipment, attachments, and warranty options are needed.

1.0 Scope

The K9 training simulators are needed to perform monthly and annual trainings. The K9 training simulators need to provide the ability for MWD Handlers, Trainers, and Kennel Masters to conduct realistic first aid.

2.0 Background

The 633 SFS MWD section is not able to accomplish required yearly tasks as the current gear is insufficient. Only having live dogs to perform monthly and annual trainings limits the amount of tasks able to perform as the MWD would be unconscious in a real life situation. Not having advanced canine medical trainers forces training to be done through a slide show presentation. The majority of the tasks need to be hands-on for full comprehension. The K9 Diesel Dog provides the ability for MWD Handlers, Trainers and Kennel Masters to conduct realistic first aid and the tasks to be fully and correctly accomplished.

3.0 Technical Requirements

The following elements are needed: Breathing - adjustable from slow to panting, Interchangeable limbs and injuries, Bleeding junctional wounds, Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV), Intestinal evisceration, Pulse, Airway management, Audio - barking, whimpering, stertor, and stridor, Movable jaw, Intubation, Breathing response, Tracheostomy, Bilateral needle decompression, CPR, IV insertion, Bilateral intraosseous infusion, Wireless remote control with real-time sensor data and programmable/customizable scenarios.

The K9 Diesel Dog has proprietary technology and software exclusive to Trauma F/X INC. The 633 SFS/K9 section is governed by US Army Regulations in regards to the care of assigned MWDs. The following regulations outline the requirement: AFI 31-121 9.2.2., AFJI 48-131/AR Veterinary Health Services, and (US ARMY) Technical Bulletin Medical 298 3-3.
