About this file
This Statement of Work details the installation of twenty-three (23) CAT6 data drops for the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base. The project requires installing network cabling in three buildings: Building 870 (17 drops), Building 882 (2 drops), and Building 910 (4 drops), with specific locations identified in toolbox and work areas. The contractor must provide all materials, tools, and skilled labor to complete the installation, adhering to TIA/EIA networking standards, including using J-hooks for cable routing, installing conduits below twelve feet in shop areas, and using steel boxes with decora openings for network jacks.
Key technical requirements include using new, industry-standard CAT6 cabling, black network jacks, and conducting comprehensive cable testing per TIA/EIA specifications. The 341st Communications Squadron will handle patching and VLAN assignments, and infrastructure will confirm switch port availability. The period of performance is 120 days from contract award, with work to be performed by a certified electrician. The point of contact is located at Malmstrom AFB, Montana, and the project involves coordination between Logistics and Communications squadrons to ensure proper network connectivity.

1. Description of Services
1.1 Provide assets as outlined. Here, the purchaser is identified as the 341st Missile Wing (U.S.
Government), and the contractor providing the service is identified as the seller.
2. SUMMARY OF WORK:
2.1 Contractor Responsibilities:
Provide twenty-three (23) CAT6 data drops from toolbox areas in Buildings 870 (17 drops), 882 (2 drops), and 910 (4 drops) to the designated rack or switch in each building.
Tools and Equipment: The contractor shall provide all necessary tools and equipment required for the project’s completion.
Materials: The contractor shall provide all materials needed for effectively connecting devices to the network. These materials should be new and of industry-standard quality.
Labor: The contractor shall provide skilled labor qualified to complete the project according to the industry stands and specifications.
2.2 Network Cabling and Installation:
A. Cable Runs:
1. Existing pathways established with J-hooks above ceilings shall be utilized for the cable route to each new area. Each cable run shall terminate on the existing switch panel within the network rack, following EIA/TIA 568B wiring standards.
2. In the shop areas, the cabling must be installed in conduit at heights below twelve feet. User area jacks will be in steel boxes with steel RS-style covers with decora openings. Provide patch panels at the rack or switch as needed. The Room for 20% future expansion will be maintained at the patch panels after the installation. All cabling installations must meet TIA/EIA-569-A requirements.
3. All cables, jacks, patch panels, etc. will comply with TIA/EIA-568-B.2, Category The network jack color will be black.
2.3 Cable Certification and Aesthetics:
All cables will be inspected and tested. Inspect for physical damage and test each conductor signal path for continuity and shorts. Test for faulty connectors, splices, and terminations.
Test according to TIA/EIA-TSB67, "Transmission Performance
Specifications for Field Testing of Unshielded Twisted-Pair Cabling
Systems." Link performance for UTP cables must meet minimum criteria of
TIA/EIA-568-A. All Category 6 field-testing shall be performed with an approved level III balanced twisted-pair field test device. Test results with summary and plot diagrams will be provided to the government.
2.4. Conduit and Cabling Protection:
The chosen conduit type shall match existing installations. The contractor may utilize existing infrastructure where feasible. However, new conduit installations will be required in specific locations as determined during project planning. Flexible conduits of any type will be accepted if required. Surface-mounted conduits on concrete finishes or drywall are acceptable, provided the gap between the finished wall and the conduit does not exceed 1.5 cm.
3. WORK SCOPE:
3.1 Work shall be performed by a certified electrician.
