About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation FA462625Q0055 regarding CAT 6 cable drops installation at Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command facilities. The document addresses five contractor questions about the project requirements, which involves installing CAT6 data drops from toolbox areas in Buildings 870, 882, and 910 to designated racks or switches in each building.
Key technical details clarified include: Building 870 contains the only designated telecommunications room, while communications boxes are located in Building 882 Room 019, Building 910 Room 001, and Building 870 Room 203; all drops require new conduit from ceiling down (approximately 310 feet total) but no conduit within ceiling space; single CAT6 cables are sufficient with no spare required. Contractors can submit quotes using the provided template in the SAM.gov solicitation attachment or their own format, with submissions directed to barek.webster@us.af.mil. The Q&A format indicates this is supplemental information to help contractors prepare responsive proposals for the cable installation project.

| 1 | Where are the telecomunication rooms located? | Building 870 is the only facility with a designated telecommunications room. The communications boxes are located in the following rooms: Building 882, Room 019; Building 910, Room 001; and Building 870, Room 203, which is directly above Room 118. |
| 2 | Since no site walk was conducted, can you provide a number of how many drops would need new conduit ran from each telecommunication room? | All drops will require new conduit to be run down from the ceiling; however, conduit is not needed within the ceiling space. A very rough estimate indicates that approximately 310 feet of conduit will be required. |
| 3 | With each drop location, will two Cat6 drops suffice as one would be spare? | There is no need to run a spare Cat 6 cable, as a single cable will be sufficient. |
| 4 | How would you like the proposal formats or price sheet be submitted? | In the solicitation FA462625Q0055 attachment on SAM.gov, there is a page provided for submitting your quoted price, which can be emailed to barek.webster@us.af.mil. Alternatively, you may submit your quote using your own template, provided it clearly demonstrates your ability to meet the stated requirements. |
