About this file
This is a Statement of Requirement (SOR) for the procurement of an Audiology Vestibular Testing Rotary Chair by the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) Audiology Department. The requirement specifies one (1) Vestibular Rotary Chair with Videonystagmography (VNG) option and Air Caloric Addition, including a computer, TV monitor, ocular motor stimulus, and software. The equipment will be stationary and hardwired for electrical connection. The chair is intended to evaluate and identify inner ear and neurological balance disorders as part of comprehensive vestibular evaluations. The government also requires installation labor, one day of on-site training, and removal and disposal of the existing Neuro-Kinetics Chair/System.
The technical specifications require equipment equivalent to or branded as the Orion Auto-Traverse Vestibular Rotary Chair with VNG, with minimum specifications including a RCS-365 missile-grade torque motor with 365 ft-lbs peak torque, maximum angular velocity of 400°/sec, and maximum acceleration of 1200°/sec². The rotational motion system must include dual-axis tilt (LARP/RALP) with tilt speeds of 10-15 seconds for full reposition and maximum tilt angles of 45°. The eye tracking system must feature I-Portal Infrared Video-Oculography (VOG) with a 100 Hz sampling rate (standard) and 250 Hz high-speed mode capability, with specified horizontal and vertical spatial resolution requirements. Position accuracy must be within 0.2°, encoder resolution of 20,000 counts/rev, and gimbal configuration must be fully motorized with software-controlled dynamic repositioning to align with specific canal planes.
