About this file
This is a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) issued by the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research to determine if small business sources can provide parts and accessories for an Eppendorf EpMotion 5075 automated liquid handler upgrade. The equipment will support next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation functions for the Laboratory of Hepatitis Viruses, enhancing laboratory throughput, improving precision and accuracy in liquid transfers, and reducing manual pipetting errors. The primary target audience is small business concerns under NAICS 335416 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) with a 1,000-employee size standard, though other vendors offering domestically-manufactured equivalent and compatible products are also encouraged to respond.
The requirement encompasses 18 line items totaling specific quantities of Eppendorf epMotion accessories, including dispensing tools, reservoirs, racks, magnet adapters, thermoblocks, waste management components, pipette tips, and PCR plates. All products must be new (not refurbished), compatible with the epMotion 5075, and meet strict specifications including PCR clean and DNase/RNase-free standards for plasticware. Delivery is expected within 30 days of contract award to the FDA facility in Silver Spring, Maryland. Interested contractors must submit capability statements by email to suzanne.martella@fda.hhs.gov on or before 2:00 pm Central Time on May 18, 2026, referencing 75F40126SSN134158. Responses must include company information, past performance data (within three years), technical documentation demonstrating compliance with specifications, descriptive literature, GSA Schedule contract information if applicable, warranty and payment terms, place of manufacture, and informational pricing. This is a market survey for information only; no contract will be awarded from this announcement, and no reimbursement will be made for response costs.
