About this file
This is a Notice of Intent to Certify Sole Source issued by the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), a Mississippi state agency, regarding the procurement of non-human primate actigraphy devices and related accessories. UMMC seeks to procure twelve (12) non-human primate grade actigraphy devices and associated MotionWare software for collection of sleep, circadian stability, and physical activity data used in research. The first advertisement was published October 19, 2026, followed by a second advertisement on October 26, 2026. The response deadline for objections from interested parties is November 6, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Central Time, with notice of award or no award to be posted no earlier than November 13, 2026. Objections must be submitted using the Vendor Form for State sole source determination and must include the required certification in Attachment B.
UMMC intends to award the sole source procurement to CamNtech Inc., the exclusive United States distributor of CamNtech Ltd. manufactured Motionwatches, which are the only actigraphy devices validated for data collection in non-human primates. The total expenditure for the purchase of Motionwatches and associated MotionWare software is $14,640, representing a reasonable price within expected market ranges and aligned with the amount budgeted in the original grant proposal. UMMC has pursued available market intelligence and identified discounts to obtain the best possible price. Interested parties who believe the products should not be certified as sole source must submit objections to solesource@umc.edu prior to the November 6, 2026 deadline; responses received after this time or lacking required information will be rejected.
