About this file
The document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (Form PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). FDLE is seeking to procure implements and equipment for their laboratories, specifically for the QIAGEN QIASymphony and QIAgility systems used to analyze and sample DNA from crime-related specimens. The total estimated value of the contract is $1,100,000, and the term is from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. FDLE must purchase approved QIAGEN supplies and implements that are compatible with their existing, validated equipment and procedures.
The justification for this single-source procurement is that FDLE currently has 40 QIAGEN instruments in operation, and these instruments require QIAGEN-specific supplies and implements that can only be purchased from QIAGEN, LLC. FDLE has previously established their platform for QIAGEN accessories and maintenance through Invitation to Bid 1257 in November 2011, and the QIASymphony and QIAgility systems are the only ones validated to work with FDLE's existing QIAGEN EZ1 extraction robot.
