About this file
This document is a Notice of Intent to Certify Sole Source #SS 375 from the University of Mississippi (UM). UM anticipates purchasing AMTI 600x1200 force plates from Advanced Mechanical Technology, Inc. (AMTI) as a sole source procurement. AMTI is the sole manufacturer and vendor of the OPTIMA platform systems and OPTIMA amplifiers with specifications that meet UM's requirements, including high accuracy, low crosstalk, and seamless integration with UM's existing Noraxon IMU and IMU system. UM is accepting comments from interested parties objecting to this sole source certification until April 30, 2024 at 10:00 am Central Time. If UM determines that the required commodity can be provided by another source, it will withdraw the sole source certification and proceed with a competitive bid process. If UM determines there is only one source, it will appeal to the Public Procurement Review Board for approval to purchase.
The amount to be expended for the force plate system is discounted and considered a reasonable price, as AMTI is the only vendor that fully integrates with UM's existing systems without requiring additional software or hardware development. UM has negotiated a 15% discount off the market price with AMTI. There are no set-asides, incumbents, or funding requirements mentioned in the document.

AMTI is the sole manufacturer and vendor of OPTIMA platform systems and OPTIMA amplifiers in the US, with specifications listed below. BMS6001200 Force Platform The Optima BMS series provides levels of accuracy never before seen in force platform systems: • Average Center of Pressure (COP) accuracy of just a fraction of a millimeter (typically less than 0.5) • Crosstalk values typically ±0.2% of applied load • Measurement accuracy typically ±0.5% of applied load* Additionally, AMTI is the primary integration with our existing Noraxon IMU and IMU system for the capture of rotational motions.
Name of company/individual selling the item and why that source is the only possible source that can provide the required item(s):
