About this file
This document is an irrigation layout plan for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the SR 83 (US 331) median from SR 30 (US 98) to south of the Clyde B. Wells Bridge. The project is divided into two phases: Phase 1 covers the area from Coastal Center Drive to the south side of the Clyde B. Wells Bridge, and Phase 2 extends from US Highway 98 to Coastal Center Drive. The irrigation system design includes specific requirements such as using Rain Bird pressure compensating emitters, setting a flow rate of 3 gallons per plant at 1 gallon per day, and ensuring 100% coverage of planted and sod areas.
The detailed irrigation plan specifies technical requirements including PVC piping buried at least 12 inches deep, valve boxes installed flush with grade, and a one-year warranty on the irrigation system against material and workmanship defects. The irrigation controllers will be Hunter ACC 2-wire decoders with 99 station capacity, with detailed zone assignments for control valves covering spray and bubbler irrigation for various areas. The contractor must submit an 811 dig ticket prior to excavation, use Schedule 40 PVC piping, and ensure irrigation components do not overspray onto roadways or median openings. Additional notes emphasize the need for careful utility location, extreme caution around overhead power lines, and proper restoration of any road or property damaged during construction.
