About this file
This is an AFMC IMT 260 First Article Requirements form dated 15 JUL 2026 for a critical aerospace component with NSN 2840012898529PR procured under PR/MIPR 07482 / 9525M21G02 for General Electric Aircraft Engine Company (CAGE 07482).
The procurement requires submission of three first article units in addition to production quantities. The first articles will not serve as manufacturing standards and must be manufactured at the facilities where production will occur. Government testing is required, with performance specifications and technical requirements referenced in part drawings, specifications, and engineering instructions. The contractor must submit detailed test plans and notify the Air Force Contracting Officer and requesting activity of test times and locations. First articles are due within 180 calendar days from contract date, with 30-day advance shipment notification required. Delivery is to DDOO-SOP at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma (Building 18 Door 16, DODAAC FY2303), with packages clearly marked "FIRST ARTICLE" in conspicuous letters. Government approval or disapproval is due within 180 days of receipt. One first article will be expended in testing, with residual components of disapproved articles retained by the USAF pending disposition instructions. Approved first articles will be forwarded to USAF Supply. The estimated cost of government testing is $5,000. However, first article testing is waived for the OEM, General Electric Aerospace (CAGE 07482), per a note dated 24 AUG 2010. The item's integrity, fit, and function are critical to safe flight and engine operation, requiring stringent quality controls and close dimensional tolerances. Cognizant engineering approval is managed by Miller, Lofton C, AFLCMC/LPSBN, (405) 249-5459.

12. REMARKS
Miller, Lofton CNAME: 15 JUL 2026DATE:
The integrity, fit, and function of this item is critical to safe flight and engine operation. In order to comply with drawing specified dimensional tolerances, material certifications, and process requirements, a contractor must have expertise, appropriate facilities, and be able to implement stringent quality controls. It is therefore necessary to verify the contractor's ability to produce this item. Conditions for first article waiver are as outlined in block 11 above. Engineering will determine the status of similarity for block 11. A fit check may be performed at the discretion of the cognizant engineer overseeing first article testing.
BLOCK 5: For FMS contracts, use PART OF PRODUCTION QUANTITY in lieu of IN ADDITION TO PRODUCTION QUANTITY
BLOCK 10: For FMS contracts, approved first articles will be returned to the contractor for shipment with production item and residual components of disapproved first articles will be returned to the contractor.
