About this file

This is a Packaging Requirements document (AFMC Form 158) for a federal contract opportunity identified by Purchase Instrument Number FD20302600834-00. The document specifies military packaging and marking standards that vendors must comply with when delivering items under this contract.

All wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and treated with heat at 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes to comply with United Nations-implemented restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM) and prevent the spread of invasive species such as the pinewood nematode. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is required, with reference to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). Items shall be packaged according to MIL-STD-2073-1 (Standard Practice for Military Packaging) at Preservation Level MIL and Packaging Level B. Shipping containers must be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129 (Standard Practice for Military Marking, Revision R) and may include additional requirements such as unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer names, and model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The packaging requirements were established by Richard R. Davis, Packaging Specialist with the 406 SCMS/GULAA organization, and are effective as of February 19, 2026.
