About this file

This document provides a Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) for an alternator and associated parts. The SPI specifies how to package an alternator (Part Number 12273135-3), gasket, reducer, elbow, pump, and other components into segregated packages and a unit container using various materials. The packaging is required to meet Military Standard 2073-1D for preservation and Military Standard 129 for marking. The SPI provides detailed instructions for cleaning, drying, packing, marking, and inspecting the packaged alternator system. Accompanying illustrations depict the blocking assembly, support blocks, and drum packaging configuration. Related to this is a federal contract opportunity for Honeywell IPS for a 5-year IDIQ contract under Solicitation Number SPRDL1-19-R-0147 to be released on or about January 3, 2020 with an offer due date of February 20, 2020. The requirement is restricted to Honeywell and involves the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime.
