About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for a Global Communications Backhaul Solution from the Space Rapid Capability Office (SpRCO). The RFI seeks a robust, redundant communications network connecting Schriever Space Force Base with multiple locations including Vandenberg Space Force Base, Peterson Space Force Base, sites in Georgia, Italy, Australia, and Hawaii. Key technical requirements include 2Gbps symmetrical bandwidth at each location, lowest possible latency, Type-1 encryption, automatic failover, and support for hybrid cloud applications with comprehensive cybersecurity measures.
The proposed solution must accommodate diverse routing through submarine cables, terrestrial paths, and satellite communications, supporting data transfer, VoIP, video conferencing, and cloud applications. Anticipated timeline indicates a potential start in FY26/27 with operational status no later than FY28, targeting first operational unit in Calendar Year 2027. The network must support security classifications from unclassified up to TS/SCI, with 24/7/365 technical support, DISA-approved solutions, and TEMPEST Level 1 requirements. The Department of the Air Force is the sponsoring agency, with the Space Rapid Capability Office leading the procurement effort.
