Section A: Scope
Objective: The objective of this task is to purchase from the vendor, CV International, a cryogenic sampler. Purchasing this instrument will allow the Mid-Atlantic Regional Laboratory located at V-61 on Naval Station Norfolk to be able to continue performing oxygen analysis in support of naval operations.
Background/Introduction
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Materials Laboratory at Building V-61is a modern and complete science laboratory, specializing in routine and unique analysis of Aviator’s Breathing Oxygen using the procedure NAVAIR A6-332AO-GYD-000. The Antaris FT-IR spectrometers are used to determine the concentration of contaminants in Aviators Breathing Oxygen before it is used in flight operations and diving operations. The build-up of contaminants in breathing oxygen is life threatening and quality control of oxygen is very important.
