About this file
This document is a Project Addendum #01 for Spring Lake Public Schools, specifically for the High School Media Center AV & Video Security project. The addendum, issued by Commtech Design on July 17, 2025, provides clarifications and updates to the original bid documents. Key project details include a completion date of March 2026, with AV work likely starting in January 2026. The project scope involves audio-visual and video security systems, including Milestone VMS, Axis and Hanwha cameras, Sapling clocks (red, model sbp-31s-254-0r), and a Lightspeed T25 wireless microphone system with speakers.
The addendum addresses several bidder questions, including equipment specifications, connectivity requirements, and licensing details. The owner will provide CAT-6 patch cables and prefers co-terminated Milestone licensing (with a provided license code M01-C05-211-01-6C4E3C). For the huddle spaces, only an Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) Apple TV will be used, with no additional connectivity cables required. The project allows for alternative manufacturers for some equipment, such as the Lightspeed microphone system, while specifically excluding some alternatives like Valcom clocks.

PROJECT ADDENDUM #01
To All Bidders Date: July 17,2025
From: Bret Emerson Company Commtech Design
Project Name:

a. See Clock locations on re-issued drawings. See “CL” symbol
Specifications re-issued;
1. None
Questions;
1. When is this projects completion date. The documents say July 31, 2025 just want to confirm.
Answer. Completion of work is March 2026. The work for AV will most likely start in January 2026
2. Could you please clarify if a clock system is included in this RFP bid?
I have been reviewing the RFP documents, and I see section 281705 Clock System in the specifications, but I do not see any clocks shown on the drawings. Maybe I'm missing something.
Answer. Clocks are shown to be installed as part of the scope. See revised TC401 noted above. The clock symbols did not plot on the original drawing.
3. You have Milestone VMS listed as the basis of design on the Spring Lake bid spec. You have Axis as the only approved manufacturer for cameras. Hanwha is listed as a platinum partner for Milestone systems, which is its highest level of integration. This is the same level as Axis. Let me know if we can have Hanwha cameras approved along with Axis for this project.
Answer. Hanwha cameras are allowed.
SPLS Media Center AV and Video Secuirty - Addendum 1 2
4. I see the details for the Sapling clocks but I don't see them on the prints anywhere. Are we just supplying labor to remount?
Answer. See Re-Issued TC401 with the clock locations. Clocks to be used are the Sapling sbp-31s-254-0r to be RED in color.
5. If we're supplying the clocks are the Valcom (VIP-D425A) a suitable replacement option?
Answer. Valcom is NOT an approved equal.
6. For the Huddle spaces what kind of connectivity are they looking for? Just the OFE Apple TV or are we supplying an HDMI cable and brush plate? It mentions the potential of an active cable as well. Assuming thats for C205?
Answer. The owner is going to use the OFE Apple TV only. No other connectivity cables are required at the LCD’s in the Huddle Spaces
7. Sheet TC302, Note 1 mentions requirements for the patch cables. Can you specify the color that the District would like for the video surveillance equipment? Is there a preferred manufacturer and style (snagless, booted, etc.)?
Answer. Owner will provide all CAT-6 patch cables. Contractor to install as required to connect their systems.
8. The spec notes that Milestone licensing should be included through June 2026. Is it the intent of the district to have 1 year of Milestone Care Plus for each camera or would they like the CarePlus co-terminated with their existing licensing? If they would like it co-terminated, will you please provide their Milestone Licensing information?
Answer. Co-Terminated will be preferred. License Code is M01-C05-211-01- 6C4E3C
9. I am checking in on what Lightspeed system you want for the Media Center at Spring Lake. In the RFP you have listed the Cascadia C25 but nowhere in the documents do I see that this Network connectable system is connected to the network. Is this just the primary installation for a larger building wide project where the Cascadia system will be tied into the school's network to generate alerts from the teacher's microphone?
Or......could it be that the Lightspeed T25, non-networked system may be the more appropriate solution?
Answer. Provide the T25 wireless microphone system and speakers. Alternates manufacturers are allowed.
Sincerely, Bret Emerson
