About this file

This document is a Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) for a Head-Up Display Monitor, with detailed specifications for packaging, preservation, and shipping. The document provides comprehensive instructions for packaging a military head-up display monitor, including specific requirements for military preservation (IAW MIL-STD-2073), marking guidelines (IAW MIL-STD-129), and international phytosanitary measures for wood packaging material.

The packaging instruction includes precise dimensional details for container sizes, cushioning requirements, and material specifications. Notably, the document mandates that all wooden packaging materials must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade for 30 minutes, with certification required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee. The document is marked with Distribution Statement D, limiting distribution to DoD and U.S. DoD contractors for administrative or operational use, and includes specific destruction notices for handling the document.
