1. GENERAL: The 366th Maintenance Squadron located on Mountain Home AFB, ID requires one (1) Shuttle Vertical Lift to maximize vertical space, allowing you to store and retrieve items.

This purchase shall include installation and a warranty.

1.1 Publications. The contractor shall perform all work associated with this requirement detailed within this Specification Sheet, in accordance with the applicable publications below.

The latest editions of the following publications and standards shall apply:

1.1.1. DAFI 21-101, AFMAN 23-101, AFMAN 23-122

2. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS: The Shuttle Vertical Lift must (at a minimum) comply with the following salient characteristics:

2.1. All units must be modular construction, built up from the inside to allow for easy height upgrades.

2.1.1 All components carry an industry standard warranty, including transportation, parts and labor.

2.1.2 The extractor shall be driven by a steel belted tooth drive system with 6 points of contact

(for durability and proper alignment/guidance of the extractor). The extractor’s design shall eliminate tilting/skewing of shelves/containers during movement. The drive belt is required for noise reduction and multiple points of fully engaged contact with the drive sprockets. Chain driven systems are not acceptable.

2.1.3 The vertical lift must be equipped with a central extractor guidance system with a minimum of 10 rollers.

2.1.4 The vertical lift must come with an automatic security door for safety and designed to prevent dirt and dust from entering the unit while not in operation.

2.1.5 An operator station shall be provided that is easy to use to store/retrieve stored parts.

This can be a pendant or other easy to use keyboard/operator station. The system shall have soft starts and stops. The operator work surface height shall be approximately 30-36 inches and have the ability to accommodate maximum media storage of 28.5”.

2.1.6 The storage unit must have an ergonomic tray/tray delivery height selection from the operator console.

2.1.7 The storage unit must include a hinged table feature allowing the operator to access the tray overhead outside of the access opening. The table must be hinged and not permanently extended due to restriction of aisle space in front of the unit

2.1.8 Shelf spacing must be adjustable on approximate 1” increments to allow for maximum use of vertical space.

2.1.9 The storage unit must come with vertical photo eyes in the extractor column to prevent any damage to contents or unit from an improperly stored item

2.1.10 The unit must be capable of handling multi-tray capacities without unit modification.

This requirement is for future expansion.

2.1.11 Self-monitoring full height LVS light curtain shall be installed at the operator’s access opening. This shall provide safety features that protect the operator from injury when the shelf/container is moving. This feature shall stop the shelf/container from moving, when an operator’s hand/arm is in danger of injury. Other safety features shall have redundant systems, and fail-safe overrides to ensure continuous operation and minimum system down time.

2.1.12 Vertical Lift must have energy saving standby mode which switches all electrical consumers into “sleep” mode when not being used.

2.1.13 Vertical Lift operator will be informed if a predefined overload is reached – early warning. If this limit is exceeded; the device will be positioned onto the next possible shelf – switch-off.

2.1.14 Vertical Lift trays are held in the access opening by means of the extractor chain finger system. The finger hold system locks the tray in the workstation so that it does not move during product loading or unloading

2.1.15 The specified automated storage and retrieval unit shall be constructed to the minimum dimensions of 120.00 inches in depth, 109.00 inches in width, about 19 feet in height.

occupying a total unit footprint of 99.38 square feet.

2.1.16 This storage area is comprised of forty (40) slotted trays, each measuring 33-34 inches in depth by 98 to 99 inches in width and featuring tray walls with a height of 4-5 inches.

The unit is designed with an internal bay for a single tray delivery mechanism.
