H. Phasing:

The Medical Center must maintain its operations 7AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday. Therefore, any interruption in service must be scheduled and coordinated with the COR to ensure that no lapses in operation occur. It is the CONTRACTOR'S responsibility to develop a work plan and schedule detailing, at a minimum, the procedures to be employed, the equipment and materials to be used, the interim life safety measure to be used during the work, and a schedule defining the duration of the work with milestone subtasks. The work to be identified shall include all work necessary to complete the scope as

01 00 00 -5 shown in the plans and specifications. To ensure such executions, Contractor shall furnish the COR with a schedule of approximate dates on which the Contractor intends to accomplish work in each specific area of the site, building or portion thereof. b. A portion of the work occurs in the interstitial space between the first floor ceiling and the second floor. This area will need to be accessed from the first floor. The first floor contains clinic space that will continue in operation throughout the duration of the construction. Work in this area will be carefully coordinated with the COR. It is the contractor’s responsibility to plan work ahead and communicate impacts/disruptions to the COR at least 2 weeks prior. Ceilings, outside of construction barriers, may not be left open during business hours.

4. In case of a contract construction emergency, service will be interrupted on approval of COR. Such approval will be confirmed in writing as soon as practical.

5. In case of a prolonged interruption, where water shutoff or drain down is required during occupied hours, in pressurized domestic water systems (Domestic cold water, Domestic Hot water, Domestic hot water recirculation), where isolation is possible, provide ball valves or gate isolation valves to isolate branch piping necessary

01 00 00 -7 to complete work, so that adjacent water demands can be met while the branch piping is offline.

5. Whenever it is required that a connection fee be paid to a public utility provider for new permanent service to the construction project, for such items as water, sewer, electricity, gas or steam, payment of such fee shall be the responsibility of the Government and not the Contractor.
