463-22-106 Physical Therapy Renovations

STATEMENT OF WORK FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

Alaska VA Healthcare System - Col. Mary Louise Rasmuson Campus Anchorage, Alaska November 21, 2024

1. General – The Alaska VA requires labor, materials and expertise to perform the construction services for renovating the second floor Physical Therapy department, located at 1201 N. Muldoon Road, Anchorage Alaska 99504.

This facility is a fully operational outpatient clinic, which normally operates between 7AM and 5PM, Monday through Friday. This contract will require substantial planning and coordination with the contracting officer’s representative (COR), a facility safety representative, and a facility infection control representative on a regular basis. The project will require advanced planning and communication, in order to minimize disruptions to the healthcare environment and operations.

Total period of performance will be 365 days. The contractor should plan for partial night and/or weekend work for employees and subcontractors working specifically in the first floor primary care areas.

2. Scope - Provide construction materials and services per the construction documents (drawings and specifications), infection control and preconstruction risk documents attached to this bid solicitation.

3. Construction Barriers

a. This contract will require several construction barriers to separate dust, debris, noise and visual distraction from the healthcare environment. All construction barriers must meet the infection control requirements, as documented in the infection control risk assessments, attached to this solicitation. NOTE: The 2nd floor area will require a complete barrier with entry and exit vestibules, that seals the above ceiling space down to the floor, to maintain the constant negative air pressure requirement in the work area. It is recommended that the contractor employ a representative to manage safety and infection control coordination, planning, inspections and maintenance duties, separate from the PM, superintendent and other roles.
