About this file
This document is a specification sheet for a crushed limestone surface project for the Mickelson Trail in South Dakota, issued by the state's government agency. The project requires a contractor to furnish and deliver 500 tons of crushed limestone between the Minnekahta and Edgemont Trailheads, starting at approximately mile post 7, with a strict project timeline from July 1st to July 31st. Contractors are mandated to use only belly dump trucks and must adhere to a maximum load limit of 40 tons on bridge crossings. Mickelson Trail personnel will conduct random sampling and testing to ensure material specification compliance, and contractors must provide weight tickets and a pre-delivery material sample.
The limestone material must meet precise gradation specifications, with specific passing percentages across various screen sizes from ¼" to No. 200 sieve. The material must be exclusively crushed limestone, and the agency contact for this project is Jayme Severyn, reachable at 605-280-1811. While no specific pricing details are provided in the document, the specifications indicate a focused, time-limited procurement process with rigorous material quality requirements. The project appears to be part of trail maintenance and improvement efforts, with a clear emphasis on precise material characteristics and delivery conditions.
