About this file

This document is a specification for crushed limestone surface procurement for the Mickelson Trail, issued by a state or local agency. The project involves furnishing and delivering 500 tons of crushed limestone between the Minnekahta and Edgemont Trailheads, starting at approximately mile post 7. The project is time-limited, running from July 1st to July 31st, with specific delivery restrictions including the use of only belly dump trucks and a maximum load limit of 20 tons on bridge crossings. Mickelson Trail personnel will conduct random sampling and testing to ensure material compliance.

The limestone material must meet precise gradation specifications, with detailed screening requirements across multiple sieve sizes. Specifically, the crushed limestone must pass 100% through a ¼" screen, 90-100% through a No. 4 screen, 50-70% through a No. 8 screen, 15-35% through a No. 40 screen, and 6-16% through a No. 200 screen. Contractors are required to provide weight tickets for the gravel surfacing and submit a sample before delivery. The agency contact for this project is Jayme Severyn, who can be reached at 605-280-1811.
