About this file
This document outlines the specifications for new or factory certified rebuilt 1200 HP Kodiak or Idaho Norland snow blowers being procured by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) on behalf of Washoe County and the City of Sparks. The snow blowers must be capable of operating at elevations up to 12,000 feet and in temperatures ranging from -50°F to 75°F. Key requirements include a 120-inch cutting width, 74-inch minimum cutting height, a single engine design, and the ability to ingest rocks up to 6 inches in diameter without operational damage. The procurement also requires the successful bidder to provide training, warranty, and maintenance services within the state of Nevada.
The procurement allows for optional pricing on a spare parts kit including key components such as replacement ribbons, fan blades, cutting edges, and hydraulic and electrical parts. Bidders must provide evidence of their ability to rebuild Kodiak and Idaho Norland snow blowers to factory specifications and demonstrate a history of producing machines that meet the required tonnage performance. The contract term is not specified, but the procurement indicates the state will provide Kodiak or Idaho Norland machines as core exchanges for the rebuild work.
