Hazardous Materials and Asbestos Inspection
On behalf of MDT, GEM Environmental conducted an asbestos inspection on May 29, 2025. The following asbestos containing materials (ACM) were identified and are summarized below:
Eleven (11) HAs of Confirmed ACM (determined to be >1% asbestos) were identified and are summarized below:
· M1.2/S3.2: Drywall system (M1.2) (mud, tape, gypsum board) with 2% Chrysotile Identified in the Mud Layer, and associated smooth texture (S3.2) with 2% Chrysotile Identified. The drywall system and associated texture is located over the walls & ceilings in rooms 07, & 06. The materials are considered RACM, with approximately 1050 Square feet present.
· M1.3/S3.3: Drywall System (M1.3) (mud, tape, gypsum board), with 2% Chrysotile identified in the mud layer, and associated smooth texture (S3.3) with 2% Chrysotile identified. The drywall system and associated texture is located over the walls in room 02. The materials are considered RACM, with approximately 400 square feet.
· M1.4/S3.4: Drywall System (MM1.4) (mud, tape, gypsum board) with 2% Chrysotile identified in the mud layer, and a associated light popcorn texture (S3.4) which contains 2% Chrysotile asbestos. The drywall system and associated texture is installed as the ceiling cap in room 02. The material is RACM, with approximately 150 Square feet present.
· M1.5/S3.5: Drywall System (M1.5) (Mud, tape, gypsum board) with 2% Chrysotile identified in the mud layer, and associated smooth texture (S3.5) which contains 2% Chrysotile asbestos. The drywall system and associated texture is installed as wall and ceiling coverings in room 01. The material is RACM with approximately 450 square feet present.
· M1.5/S3.5: Drywall System (M1.6) ( Mud, tape, gypsum board) with 2% Chrysotile Identified in the mud layer, and associated smooth texture installed which contains 2% Chysotile asbestos. The drywall system and associated texture is located over the walls in rooms 04 & the walls and ceilings in room 05. The material is RACM with approximately 3000 square feet present.
· F3.1: 9x9 vinyl floor tiles, green with beige streaks with associated black mastic. With 5% Chrysotile asbestos identified in the floor tile & no asbestos detected by PLM in the black mastic layer. The vinyl floor tile system is located in rooms 01, 01-closet, 02, 02-closet, 03, 03-closet, & 04. The material is exposed in the closets, and underneath the rolled carpeting in 04. The material is assumed to be present below the wood tongue and groove flooring throughout rooms 01 & 02. The material is CAT I, with 1350 square feet present.
· M10.1: cement asbestos board, with 15% Chrysotile asbestos. Associated with the central cast iron fireplace located in room 04. The cement asbestos board is installed as a heat shield. Behind and below the fireplace. (it is installed behind the brick & grout system).
· M7.1: Window glazing, with detectable asbestos mineral fibers reported as <1% Chrysotile by PLM analysis. Is assumed to contain >1% asbestos mineral fibers and is considered RACM. Supplemental point count analysis of the material was not completed by the laboratory by error (per verbal with CEI). Since no point count data is available, the material is assumed to be >1% and is ACM. The white window glaze is present on the exterior window systems located in rooms 05 & 07 only. With approximately 65 Square feet present.
· R10.1: Hard grey caulk applied to the chimney roof penetration is assumed to contain greater than 1% chrysotile asbestos and is ACM. Approximately 3 square feet of the material is present.
