About this file

This document contains the additional specifications for a compact excavator that is being procured through Bid B-7197 by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) under Grant # 19-019D. The requested equipment must have features such as a cab with heating and AC, rubber tracks, a rear view camera, a 24-inch bucket with teeth, a hydraulic clamp/thumb, a dozer blade over 75 inches, a hydraulic quick coupling system, a minimum 10-foot digging depth and 17-foot reach, at least 8,000 pounds of digging force, and front shovel capability with 200-degree bucket rotation. The equipment must also have built-in monitoring capability with remote reporting access for the IDNR to track hours, location, and maintenance. A minimum 1-year warranty and equipment training by the dealer are required. Delivery may be to a location within 150 miles of Marion, Illinois, and the equipment must be relatively lightweight at under 10,000 pounds operating weight.

The procurement is for the ORC/HSL Compact Excavator opportunity in the state of Illinois, specifically within Williamson County. The use of a brand name is for describing the desired quality, performance, and characteristics, and "or equal" submissions will not be rejected due to minor differences that do not affect suitability for the intended use. The burden of proof that the product is equal is on the bidder.
