The City seeks to contract with a professional mechanic/machine repairman to maintain and repair both stationary and vehicle-mounted electrical power generators across various municipal locations on an as-needed and emergency basis. The contract covers generators ranging in size from 12.5 KVA to 410 KVA, with both gas and diesel types, located at 19 different public buildings and water department facilities. While a specific bid deadline of August 17, 2023, at 10:15 am is mentioned in the associated contract opportunity description, the specifications provide comprehensive details about inspection requirements, service expectations, and maintenance protocols.
The specifications outline specific pricing and service terms, including that the contractor must provide all necessary manpower, tools, equipment, and parts to maintain generators to full operational use. New parts must be new, unused, and meet ASTM, ANSI, and SAE approvals. The City will pay the net price for parts based on a manufacturer's price catalog, and the contractor must submit detailed invoices and service work orders. Emergency response is required within 15 minutes by telephone and on-site within four hours. The contract includes extensive maintenance schedules covering multiple system inspections, including starting systems, battery charging, fuel systems, cooling systems, and safety systems. Warranties are specified as 90 days for new parts and one year for electrical parts, with the City reserving the right to make multiple contract awards based on lowest cost.
