NEW THERMWOOD M63-510, MULTI-PURPOSE 3 AXIS SERIES ROUTER

Summary:

The USACE Engineer and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, MS has a requirement to purchase one New M63-510, MULTI-PURPOSE 3 AXIS SERIES.

Requirements Description:

NEW M63-510, MULTI-PURPOSE 3 AXIS SERIES

DESCRIPTION:

The M63-510 is a large bed, three-axis CNC router. It is a moving bridge style machine with a stationary table. It is primarily designed specifically for two dimensional machining of large composite parts. The M63-510 is also highly recommended for the machining of three dimensional patterns.

MACHINE:

The stress relieved machine base is a engineered steel weldment consisting of C-channel table assembly. The base structure has steel mounting pads, each equipped with leveling bolts.

The stress relieved machine bridge is an engineered steel weldment consisting of structural steel tubing and steel bracing. It is an engineered structure with very high stiffness and strength.

The ways of X, Y and Z-axes are a trackway style of precision ground steel and are hardened to a Rockwell 60 minimum, with precision rack drives on the X and Y axes. It is primarily designed to machine low profile materials such as composite, aluminum, hardwoods, fiberboard (MDF), particleboard, and plastics.

High performance closed loop Siemens AC Brushless servo drives are equipped on all axes.

The stationary table has a one inch thick, aluminum plate table surface. This plate represents the finest in quality - a highly stable plate, ground to precision tolerance. The continuously cast, aged, stress-relieved, machined plate provides sound dimensional stability with minimal or no distortion.

Major axes are measured and calibrated using a laser interferometer to assure the most accurate absolute positioning and repeatability possible.

CONTROL SYSTEM:

The Thermwood QCore SuperControl features rich, multi-tasking, high performance CNC control system configured to perform 3 axis simultaneous motions. The QCore SuperControl features a quad core processor, a high level of hardware integration, extensive use of reliable surface mount technology and a built in upgrade path for future technology.

The control is equipped with a 19" wide full color LCD screen monitor, QWERTY keyboard, 1 TB SATA hard drive. It also includes a serial port for hand held programmer interface, variable 0 to 120% feed rate override and operator controls for start, stop, axis jog +, axis jog -, block step +, block stop - and feed hold.

The control uses a Microsoft® Windows® 10 Professional operating system, offering the operator choices for program and machine operation display, pop-up windows for event and information display, pop-up windows for data input, and the ability to operate the machine in the background while doing other tasks on the control.

VOLUMETRIC 3D LASER COMPENSATION:

Compensates for positional variations within the three dimensional working envelope of the machine.

FIXTURE PLACEMENT COMPENSATION:

Allows the user to mechanically locate three points on a fixture during initial program set up. These points establish future fixture locations. This feature is very useful when the fixture cannot be precisely located on the machine bed after each use.

THERMWOOD M63-510, THREE - AXIS ROUTER:

Programmable and controlled three-axis motion Siemens high performance high reliability brushless AC Servo Drive System with high acceleration and deceleration rates and feed speeds to 1500 inches/minute Ground and hardened steel ways on all linear axes Air conditioned control cabinet Solid-state memory and control system, fully diagnostic.
