Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Manure Spreader

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work:

The USDA-Dairy Forage Research Farm at Prairie du Sac, WI seeks a new manure spreader. Specifications for the purchase are itemized below.

2.0 Background:

The USDA-ARS Prairie du Sac station will use this manure spreader to spread slurry evenly over cropland.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:

The vendor must have a strong working knowledge of manure spreading equipment.

The spreader must be built strong enough to handle semi-solids, separated solids, compost and bedding pack. It must spread evenly.

The unit must come fully assembled and fully functional including all hydraulics and new tires.

Brand name or equal:

New KUHN Knight SLC 126 or equivalent

Line-item description:

• Minimum 350 cubic foot struck level capacity (2600 Gal)

• Tandem axle boogie

• High flotation tires Minimum 19LX16.1 18 PLY tires

• Clevis hitch

• 1 3/8" 1000 RPM PTO

• Minimum 18”X47” discharge opening

• Minimum 18 hammers

• Front and rear splash guards

• Left side discharge.

Trade- In

The USDA-ARS is offering as trade KUHN Knight 8118. Trade will not be released until new spreader is delivered. To view the spreader which is located at the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center, S8822 Sunset Drive, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578, please contact Scott Serwe at 608-574-0711 to set up an appointment.
