1. Inspections and Noninvasive activities, small scale, short duration activities that create minimal dust.

2. Major and minor demolition, and construction and renovation projects that generate a moderate to high level of dust.

3. Movement of materials and equipment, and resources that are encountered or generated by the Contractor.

1.2 RELATED SECTION(S):

B. Using the steps included, identify the Patient Risk

Groups that shall be affected. If more than one risk group will be affected, select the higher risk group.

C. Identify the areas surrounding the project area, assessing potential impact.

01 01 10-2

D. Apply Life Safety and standards (APIC) and the following criteria to maintain the supply air side open during Class three (3) and four (4) construction activity:

2. Recirculated air shall not be permitted.

3. There is no ductwork involved in this section of the demolition.

4. The work area shall never be positive to the adjacent areas

5. A log is maintained to document that negative pressure is verified and filters are checked daily, and that proper maintenance has been performed for the duration of the project. (An alarmed device is recommended for this purpose and shall be maintained and monitored by the construction personnel).

E. The Contractor shall consider the specified control measures with the costs included within the various contract items of work. An Infection Control Risk Assessment Matrix of

Precautions for construction and renovation for activities follows.

TYPE B – SMALL SCALE, SHORT DURATION ACTIVITIES WHICH PRODUCE

MINIMAL DUST.

Includes, but is not limited to:

Installation of low voltage cabling.

Access to chase spaces.
