About this file
This document is a technical specification section (Section 33 44 60) prepared by The Guzzardo Partnership, Inc. for the Lytton Plaza Fountain Modifications project, specifically detailing metal trench drain covers and grates for the City of Palo Alto's Community Services Department. The specification covers ornamental cast metal trench drain grates, metal framing, and stainless steel anti-theft bolts, with requirements for shop drawings, quality assurance, and installation procedures. The document provides comprehensive guidance for fabrication and installation, including requirements for experienced craftsmen, use of new first-quality materials, and precise installation techniques such as ensuring square and level placement, proper alignment, and secure anchoring.
The specification references a Color and Finish Schedule on Landscape Architecture Drawings for specific material and finish details, and emphasizes the importance of obtaining architect authorization for any site modifications. Installation instructions include coordinating hardware installation, touching up scratched surfaces, and adjusting components for proper operation. The project is scheduled for March 12, 2025, and follows standard construction specification formats with detailed sections covering general requirements, product specifications, and execution guidelines. While the document does not specify exact pricing, it provides technical requirements that will inform the bidding and procurement process for the fountain grate replacement project.
