The contractor must provide comprehensive installation at the specified location, on-site training immediately following installation, and one year of phone and virtual meeting support. The system must weigh less than 120 kg and accommodate existing lab space. The contractor must furnish a minimum one-year warranty from installation completion and complete service manuals for all components. Work shall be performed Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, with federal employee oversight of contractor access to the facility. SPECIFICATION OF SUPPLIES

1.0 Specifications Description

USDA – ARS – RAFSRU conducts research on histological analysis of plant and animal tissues and quantification of biomolecules such a proteins and nuclei acid in tissue sections. USDA – ARS – RAFSRU requires a microscope slide scanner and integrated analysis software and computer capable of brightfield and fluorescent imaging. The slide scanner is utilized to view, collect and analyze histological images from standard stains and immunohistochemical and immunofluorescent applications. The slide scanner should be able to automate analysis of over 100 slides at a time. The instrument should meet or exceed the specification of the Aperio FL120 Scanner.

Minimum Requirements:

A. Slide Scanner System Requirements:

1. An instrument that combines automated high-performance microscopy, image acquisition, scanning, and resolution of images of 5.5 micron X 5.5 micron pixel size in brightfield.

2. Instrument should provide fully automated scanning and interactive scanning with automated tissue identification and ability to scan in x, y and z planes

3. Should be able to create a 3D representation of a specimen.

4. Ability to capture information from whole slides using brightfield and fluorescence.

5. Capacity to load and scan 120 slides in one session. Scan speed for a standard 15 X 15 mm slide at 20X should be less than 450 seconds.

6. Provide minimum 8 slot automatic filter wheel for multiple fluorescent filters.

7. Have 20X and 40X APO objectives, and additional capacity to accommodate 63X oil objectives.

8. Provide LED light source capable of DAPI, GFP, Orange, CY5, Red and CY7 imaging.

9. Be equipped with an autoloader to move slides.

10. Provide a workstation with seamless software for control of scanner, image acquisition, image analysis and storage.

11. Weight of the system should be less that 120 kg and Dimensions should be should be accommodatable in existing lab space.

12. Provide comprehensive installation and training, and customer support for troubleshooting run setup and data output issues.

B. Incidental Services:

1. Install one Slide Scanner, computer and software at location per Section 2.0.

2. Training Requirements: Training shall occur immediately following installation.

3. One year of additional phone and virtual meeting support shall be available.

2.0 Place of Delivery

Delivery FOB: Responsive Agricultural Food Systems Research Unit, 498 Olsen Blvd, TAMU 2250, College Station, TX 77843

A loading dock is available and located at the back of the building.

Training will occur on-site.

5.0 Additional Requirements

Warranty: System shall have a minimum of a 1-year warrant from completion of installation and a complete service manual Warranty Requirements for all components.

Facility Access: No badges or background checks are required. A federal employee will be assigned to authorize the contractor and their workers entry. Contractor employees will be escorted and monitored throughout the building. Work shall be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
