About this file

This document outlines specifications for a clinical chemistry analyzer to be procured under a federal contract opportunity. The specifications require an analyzer with a broad testing menu including tests for hs-CRP, cholesterol, triglycerides, cystatin-C, creatinine, glucose, HbA1c, and other biomarkers. The analyzer must have high-throughput capabilities, require no reagent preparation as all liquids must be ready to use, feature AutoCal for chemistry tests and long calibration stability, be able to measure sample volumes under 20 microliters, have reagent on-board stability over 100 days, implement carryover evasion and ultrasonic mixing, and reduce solid waste and carbon footprint. Additionally, the computer does not need internet connectivity, software allows for predictive load lists, it must include ion selective electrodes, and provide historical reliability data. Ancillary items like a new water system up to $15,000 value and free shipment of the instrument valued at $3,192 are included. The related federal contract opportunity is issued by the USDA Agricultural Research Service and seeks these specifications to be procured for a clinical chemistry analyzer to fit in a designated space of 4.2 feet by 2.9 feet by 3.5 feet.

Clinical Chemistry Analyzer

Specifications (Salient/Generic Characteristics or Compatibility Requirements)

· have a broad testing menu to handle tests from different human study requirements. Ability to measure at minimum, hs-CRP, total cholesterol, HDL direct, LDL direct, triglycerides, cystatin-C, creatinine, glucose, HbA1c, albumin, alkaline phosphate, urea, nitrites, and total protein.

· high-throughput capabilities

· no reagent preparation; reagents should be all liquid and ready to use

· AutoCal for chemistry tests and long calibration stability, which means cost savings

· ability to measure sample volumes less than 20 microliters; the less sample volume required, the less blood we need to draw from study participants

· long on-board stability of reagent >100 days, which means cost savings

· carryover evasion

· ultrasonic mixing

· commitment to reducing solid waste from packaging, water in reagents, and carbon footprint by shipping less reagents because of their stability

· computer does not need to be connected to the internet/network; software allows for predictive load list that makes loading reagents and supplies much easier and faster.

· includes ion selective electrode

· historical reliability of reagents, equipment, and service support based on the long partnership with WHNRC

· travel for training and training costs for 2 employees included (valued $9,000)

· allowance for ancillary items, e.g. new DI water system for the instrument (valued up to $15,000)

· free shipment of instrument (valued $3,192)

· analyzer must fit in the space provided: 4.2 ft W x 2.9 ft D x 3.5 ft H
