Coeur d’Alene Site Furnishing Supply Purchase Objective:
Purchase 34 ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act / Architectural Barriers Act) snow load rated picnic tables, 15 ADA/ABA double walled fire rings, 14 ADA/ABA double walled fire rings, 2 small ADA/ABA BBQ grills with steel spade anchors 2 small ADA/ABA BBQ grills with concrete anchor pins, 20 additional concrete anchor pins,. To replace site furnishing at Coeur d’Alene (CDA) Field Office remote recreation sites.
Background:
CDA Field office has 9 remote recreation sites: Killarney Picnic Area, Killarney Popcorn Island, Gamin Lake, Orphan Point, Crater Lake, Crater Peak, Sheep Springs, Windy Bay and Tingley recreation sites. The metal rubberized coated steel picnic tables have aged and suffered rapid deterioration due to high temperature and sunlight exposure in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter and buried in heavy snow in the wintertime. Due to oxidation and material failure, the weathered tabletop materials are causing damage to campers’ clothing and other personal items. Fire rings are rusted and deteriorating from the extreme weather over the years and create unsafe places to have a contained campfire. Similarly, the barbeque grills are rusted from the weather and do not provide safe use for recreational users.
Salient Characteristics:
Note: Federal projects must conform to Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) requirements. Products sold as ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant typically meet this requirement, however, supplier shall verify ABA compliance prior to submitting product data for review by the Government.
