Summary of 74-90 hp Wheel Loaders Specification Document

This document is a Statement of Objectives and specification requirement for the procurement of 74-90 horsepower wheel loaders. The specifications establish minimum and expanded technical requirements for the equipment, which are based on the Volvo L35 Compact Wheel Loader. All bidders must meet the mandatory basic specifications, which include an engine rated net power of 74-90 hp, machine operating weight of no less than 13,200 lb, rated bucket capacity of at least 1.0 cubic yards, minimum full turn static tipping load of 8,200 lbs, and minimum breakout force of 10,000 lbs. Optional work tools available for individual pricing include 48" forks and a Cold Weather Start Package.

The expanded specifications detail requirements across multiple system categories: the engine must meet current U.S. EPA emission standards with minimum four-cylinder electronically controlled fuel injection; the transmission must be electronically controlled, adaptive, with minimum three forward and three reverse gears; steering requires adjustable console with secondary system; brakes must include emergency stopping capability and brake pressure indicators; the hydraulic system must be manufacturer-designed and modular with load-sensing implement hydraulics; axles must include disc clutch locking differentials; and wheels must be 400/70 R20 XMCL/Bibload or equivalent. The operators station must conform to SAE J1040ARP88 with air conditioning, deluxe adjustable seat, ROPS/FOPS compliance, hydraulic joystick controls, and comprehensive gauges and warning systems. Additional required features include a rear-mounted drawbar, transmission and bottom guarding, ride control system, heated exterior mirrors, and owner's manuals plus four hours of machine orientation training per receiving location. Warranty must include one year full coverage plus three additional years for powertrain.
