About this file

This is a specifications document for workstations and shelving equipment required by the PIMC Laboratory/Pathology Department's Microbiology section, prepared on September 25, 2025.

The department requires new workstations and wall-mounted shelving across four rooms to replace contaminated asbestos and granite countertops. All equipment must be ergonomically designed, resistant to fungi, viruses, bacteria, and chemicals, and easy to clean to prevent contamination. Room #1 requires three steel worktables (L-shaped 72"x56"x26"Dx41"H, 60"x26"Dx41"H, and 66"x26"Dx41"H), a 3-tier stainless steel rolling cart (16-3/4"Dx30"Lx32"H with 500 lbs. capacity), and wall-mounted painted steel shelving (14"Dx36"H). Room #2 specifies fixed casework with stainless steel work surface (67-1/2"Lx24"D), a 30"W sink base cabinet with double-hinged doors, a 36"Wx18"D flammable storage cabinet, a 20"Lx24"Dx36"H workstation, a 72"Lx24"Dx36"H workstation, a 24"Lx24"Dx49"H analyzer workstation, and another 3-tier stainless steel rolling cart (19"Dx33"Lx32"H). Room #3 requires two microscope worktables (70"Lx36"Dx41"H with stainless steel surfaces), one analyzer worktable (21"Lx22"Dx35"H), and wall-mounted steel shelving (14"Dx36"H). Room #4 specifies a 72"Lx30"Dx41"H workstation, a 32"Wx36"Dx41"H analyzer worktable, and wall-mounted painted steel shelving (14"Dx36"H). All worktables include locking casters with 9" clear height, slide-out keyboard trays where specified, edge-banded high-pressure laminate work surfaces (1.5"H), and lower shelves for storage. The document references attached drawings for wall-mounted shelving design specifications.
