Additional Specifications
1. The mass spectrometer shall employ magnetic sector scanning technology for maximum stability and calibration intervals. All peaks over the entire mass range of the mass spectrometer shall be capable of being monitored with a single Faraday detector rather than requiring multiple detectors and a limited magnet scan range.
2. The mass spectrometer shall be capable of automatically selecting from among at least 15 different inlet streams under software control. This rapid multi-stream sampler should be able to heated up to 80 degrees C to avoid any condensation from the process stream. It should also be equipped with a digital flow meter.
3. The unit should include the control for the calibration panel and RMS temperature. The stream selector for the RMS should also be software controlled.
4. The mass spectrometer shall be designed and built to ISO 9001 standards.
5. Gases shall be detectable from 100% to better than 20 ppm using a Faraday detector.
6. The mass spectrometer should be equipped with automatic calibration system - solenoid valve assembly with 6 ports for automatic calibration with up to 6 calibration gases. The automated system is required to allow the mass spectrometer to automatically shut off gas streams from inlets when they are not being sampled.
7. The price of the mass spectrometer shall include the initial installation and testing by the vendor and travel costs associated with the installation. The installation, testing, and travel shall be shown as separate line items in the proposal.
8. The mass spectrometer shall be capable of unattended stand-alone operation in semi climate-controlled environments and must maintain 1% absolute accuracy and stability, without recalibration, during a temperature variation of 20 degrees F over 12 hours, for all peaks with normalized concentrations greater than 1% volume concentrations in the absence of interfering peaks. In climate-controlled environments, the same accuracy and stability shall apply for a period of at least 24 hours.
9. The mass spectrometer shall include dual filaments which are software selectable.
10. The mass spectrometer shall allow at least 32 derived values to be calculated from "raw data" (detector outputs directly proportional to the ion currents) as well as from gas concentrations.
11. The mass spectrometer shall be capable of covering the mass range from 1 to 150. A low-resolution slit, with a mass resolution (defined as the mass at the center of the peak divided by the peak full width in mass units at 10% maximum height) of 25 or less shall be available for peaks in the mass range of 1 to 20. A high-resolution slit shall be available for peaks with masses greater than 20. Switchover from the low-resolution to the high-resolution slit shall be done automatically during runs in which both low-mass and high-mass peaks are monitored.
12. The mass spectrometer shall be able to sample gases (e.g. room air) at truly ambient pressures.
13. Drawings and manuals for the system should be supplied electronically.
14. A serial port (RS232) should be provided for connection to a computer. Additionally, two configurable serial ports should be provided for Modbus communication.
15. Electrical requirements : 120 VAC/60 Hz.
16. The vendor should provide at least 18 months of warranty from the date of delivery and 12 months from the date of instrument commissioning.
17. Service kit (Ion source, vacuum gauge, seals, fuses, micro capillary, tools, etc) should be included
18. The mass spectrometer should have fractional (1/4 inch) connection fittings.
19. The mass spectrometer should be able to analyze gas sample stream from the stream containing the following components with a desirable precision.
