About this file
This document is a set of specific terms and conditions for an HVAC services contract issued by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for the Tuscumbia Area. The contract seeks HVAC services across multiple counties, with bids to be awarded by county groupings to the lowest responsible bidder who meets all specifications. Bidders must submit bids for all six lines in a group, and the successful contractor must be located within 100 miles of the primary ALDOT facility in the county of bid. The contract period is initially 12 months, with options to extend for up to four additional 12-month periods under the same pricing, terms, and conditions, subject to mutual written approval.
Bidders are required to provide proof of certification from the Alabama Board of Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors, along with two commercial references demonstrating at least three years of experience in similar facilities. Pricing includes a fixed 15% markup on repair parts, and potential price adjustments may be considered if material or labor costs significantly increase, with any increases subject to written approval and limited to industry-specific price index or Consumer Price Index changes. The contract includes provisions for default, allowing the state to procure services from alternative sources if the original supplier fails to meet obligations, with potential consequences including suspension or debarment.
