About this file

This is an amendment to a federal solicitation for a Horizontal Loading Air Furnace and Water Quench Tank for the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation. The amendment extends the solicitation closing date to May 22, 2025, and includes several technical specification updates for the furnace, such as modifying safety device requirements, adding specifics about thermocouple ports, and including quench tank dimensions. The furnace is to be installed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma and will be used for heat treating processes, particularly for solution heat treating aluminum parts.

The solicitation requires a comprehensive system with specific technical specifications, including a temperature range of 250-1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, precise temperature uniformity within ±10°F, and compliance with multiple industry standards like NFPA, OSHA, and AMS 2750. The contractor will be responsible for a complete turnkey installation, including foundation preparation, utility connections, training for government personnel, technical documentation, and performance testing. The furnace must meet stringent requirements for safety, electrical systems, control mechanisms, and operational reliability, with detailed testing protocols to ensure compliance.
