About this file
This document is a Justification for an Exception to Fair Opportunity (JEFO) for a Multimodality Interventional Angiography System with Colinear Computed Tomography (CT) and Ultrasound Unit for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. The total estimated value of this requirement is unknown. The justification cites FAR 16.505(b)(2)(i)(B) as the authority for the exception, as the supplies or services ordered are unique or highly specialized to meet the customer's requirements. The NIH Radiology and Imaging Sciences Interventional Radiology Section requires a multi-modality system, including interventional angiography, CT, and ultrasound, for developing and validating a new method to treat prostate cancer. The system will be purchased under the existing Radiology and Imaging Systems Program contract (SPE2D1-17-D-0022) with Canon Medical Systems, which expires in February 2027.
