About this file

This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) addendum for a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) HVAC Condenser Replacement Project at the Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR), Solicitation SP470326Q0002. The Q&A addresses three key contractor inquiries: vehicle parking, ductwork replacement, and humidity control requirements. Contractors are permitted to park vehicles directly behind Building 54A, can potentially reuse existing ductwork if it is compatible with the new system and in good condition, and must maintain specific humidity control parameters of 37% to 45% relative humidity (RH) at 66 to 70 degrees F during heating, and 45% to 53% RH at 70 to 74 degrees F during cooling.

Building 54A – HVAC Condenser Replacement Project

Solicitation SP470326Q0002

Questions & Answers

1. Q: Will the contractor be allowed to park their vehicles directly behind DSCR Building

54A, directly behind the jobsite, for convenience?

A: Yes, parking directly behind DSCR B54A is allowed.

2. Q: Does all the duct work need to be replaced?

A: Not necessarily. As long as the current duct work is compatible with the new system, is in good condition, and the two rooms have their own independent system, the existing duct work can be reused.

3. Q: Is there any specific type of humidity control required for the rooms?

A: For heating the range is 37% to 45% RH at 66 to 70 degrees F and 45% to 53% RH at 70 to 74 degrees F for cooling.
