Attachment 7 “Read Me” Documentation

Background: As patches are moved to the test box, the contractor must provide documentation describing what changes and fixes are in the patch. This “Read Me” documentation must be complete, clear, and written in non-technical language, which the functional community can understand.

Purpose: The purpose of this document is to outline the required format for “Read Me” documentation.

Format: The “Read Me” document must:

a. Be in table format so that users can sort the information as needed.

b. Clearly identify the patch/update number and the date and time of installation.

c. Identify installation information about the patch (i.e., database patch only).

d. Include the CRT or PR number.

e. Identify the “critical function” associated with the PR (this data can be found in the PR).

f. Describe in plain, non-technical language what has been fixed.

g. Name the Component/agency that initiated the PR or CRT/SCR.

h. Provide separate tables for table updates and fixes.

i. Separately group fixes for NAF, LN, and Demonstration Project.

j. All Readme documentation must not include Privacy Act Information such as SSN and DOB.

Examples: Below is an example of the proposed format.
