SP4510-19-Q-1003 Aviano Warehouse Cleaning Service Questions.

Version 1/1 1/8/2019

1. During the site visit I saw 2 forklifts. Is the contractor allowed to use them at least to take down the pallets and to replace them?

A: Please see section 3.3 of the PWS: Equipment: None and section 4.1.1: The contractor is responsible to provide necessary equipment to clean, sanitize, and carry out the services required within the PWS.

2. During the site visit I saw at least 3 professional machines to clean the floor. IS THE contractor allowed to use them only for the floor cleaning?

A: Please see section 3.3 of the PWS: Equipment: None and section 4.1.1: The contractor is responsible to provide necessary equipment to clean, sanitize, and carry out the services required within the PWS.

3. The office and toilette containers must cleaned only outside?

A: Yes, only on the outside walls, stairs, roofs and windows.

4. Is the contractor allowed to use the electricity source inside the building?

A: he contractor is allowed to use the electricity inside the building.

5. Where is the nearest water source we are allowed to use?

A: There is a water spigot on the outside of the building on the South West corner of the building 2-3 meters from the door.

6. Do the internal walls and windows of the building need to be cleaned too? If yes, do we have to use a special product?

A: Per the PWS: 5.1.2 Interior perimeter walls, windows, connections, and dock boxes

And

5.1.3 Portable office exterior walls and windows

The internal walls and windows do need to be cleaned. No special product is required.

7. The choices of the products can be managed by the contractor by our experience? Or do you have special guide lines for that?

A: The contractor can use their expertise to choose cleaning product.

8. Reference: PWS (Version May 2018), page 8, section 5.1.7.1 Remove inventory and pallets on the shelves for access for cleaning requirements. Do we need to consider also as requirement to provide a contractor owned fork lift? Is so could you please provide nature of inventory and maximum weight of the pallets to be considered?

1. Contractor will need to have their own forklift. The contractor is not required to own it; they can lease one for the job. Most of the inventory is palletized on standard pallet however there is some inventory that is large and bulky, ie exercise equipment, medical equipment, furniture, etc. A forklift with a 4,000 lb lifting capacity will be sufficient for the job.

9. One request is to clean the shelves. Who is charged to take down the pallets/ items from the shelves??- I saw some motorized machinery on the shelves, and some other mixed pallets. What I mean is that we do not know if the pallet is done in the right way or not, so the staff/ material on it may can fall and cause damages or been damaged itself.

A: Pallets are loaded properly. It is the contractor’s responsibility to remove the property from the shelves, clean the shelves, and return the property to the shelves.
