Questions & Answers
Q1. In section 4.1, paragraph 4, the capacity of the Ban-Air pallet is stated as 5,000lbs. We believe this to be an error as the preceding section states the pallets should be 2,500lbs for the 52” wide pallets and 4,000lbs for the 82” wide pallets which is correct. We would welcome your conformation on this point.
A1. We confirm this point. See revised SOW section.
Q2. In section 13.0 it states that the contract shall be completed within 90 calendar days. As this contract covers the supply of materials and incremental dismantling of existing racking and installation of the new racking, we respectfully request that this is extended to 120 days.
A2. Contract Completion is revised to 120 days. See revised SOW Section.
Q3. In section 4.2 it states 5 off PS1270’s are required whereas in section 4.4 it states it as 10 off being needed. We believe 5 units is the correct quantity.
A3. 10 PS1270’s or equal are required.
Q4. In section 4.2 the PS2250 is stated as having to be Hot Dip Galvanized. As this product is for indoor use we would recommend it’s finish is yellow for safety reasons.
A4. Specification is changed to yellow. See revised SOW Section.
Q5. In section 8.0 the wording “all manufactured bolt holes shall be utilized”. As the floor plates in our products are supplied with more holes than necessary to meet standards, to enable the installer different options when securing to the floor, we ask that these words are deleted.
A5. Contractor shall plan on using at least two anchor bolts, Contractor's seismic engineer will determine the correct number for the seismic zone if more than 2 are needed. See revised SOW Section.
Q6. In paragraph 3.0 of the SOW it states that the Fixed Height Racking should be 40” deep whereas further down the section it states it should be 48” deep. Can you please advise which is correct.
A6. Specification should read 48” deep. See revised SOW Section.
Q7. The SOW does not mention any specific quantities for the parts of the Fixed Height Rack like it does for the Adjustable Racking. We have based our provision on the sketch included in the SOW and we estimate the quantities should be as detailed below.
- 10’ high Frames – 28 off
- 9’ high Frames – 30 off
- 108” Beams – 188 off (two per platform level)
- 60” Beams – 8 off (two per platform level)
- 52” x 48” Mesh Decks – 192 off
- End Barriers (small) – 7 off
- End Barriers (large) – 3 off
- Column Guards – 58 off
The above assumes 48” is the correct depth.
A7. Contractor shall base the quantities off of the sketch included in the SOW, however I estimate the quantities above to be correct.
