About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a Defense Logistics Agency Distribution solicitation (SP330026Q0011) for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Batteries. The Q&A provides critical details about battery specifications, including strict requirements for new batteries with 5-year warranties, specific cable lengths (30"), and precise dimensional and performance characteristics. Key specifications include voltage requirements (12V), specific battery sizes, amp-hour ratings, and terminal configurations for various battery models.

The Q&A also addresses logistical delivery details, noting the delivery location is a secured federal base requiring driver vetting, with delivery to New Cumberland using dock facilities and forklift unloading. Packaging requirements mandate best commercial packaging with proper MSDS sheets and placards. Vendors must provide new batteries with specific technical details such as voltage, dimensions, weight ranges, and connector types. The solicitation involves multiple amendments (0001-0005) and focuses on precise battery specifications for material handling equipment, emphasizing technical accuracy and compliance with federal procurement standards.

Answer: New batteries only, with a 5-Year warranty.

3. For the battery models listed, could you confirm the required amp-hour (Ah) ratings for each? Some models (like the 12-125-17, 18-85-19, 24-85-21, etc.) can come in different Ah capacities depending on the manufacturer, so I want to be sure I’m matching the correct specifications.

Answer:

4. For cable length you have requested 30” for most vehicles, but most vehicles have specific cable lengths and a set termination point, see below. Are the 30“ requirements critical?
