Questions & Government Responses as of 6/16/2016 RFQ SP3300-16-Q-0202

Q1. To store material 60”D and 144”W by 144”H, you will need:

-60” deep uprights and beams approximately 150” wide;

-The beams to support 5,000 lbs./level have a 6” face per level. With 19 levels that will equal 114” vertical of non-usable storage space. To this you need to add 18 openings at 4” each, totaling 72” of storage space;

Add 114” and 72” and you will have approximately =186” (15’-5”) which would require 16’H uprights, not the 12’ height you want. Please advise.

A1. You are assuming standard pallet racks; these are not pallet racks, but are racks designed specifically for sheet steel with operator relocatable storage levels.

Q2. Do you want a solid deck or wire decking?

A2. The structure holds fabricated pallets and doesn't use decking.

Q3. Do you need to meet seismic engineering requirements?

A3. As appropriate for Cherry Point, North Carolina.

Q4. Do you have a forklift that our installer can use?

A4. We do not.

Q5. What are you storing on a beam level, and does it sit on a pallet?

A5. We are storing sheet metal up to 5' x 12' and stacked up to 3" high, smaller items may be in dunnage.
